You have a problem.
Let's develop the solution.

Grammer Design and Technology helps organizations solve complex mechanical and electro-mechanical problems when the right solution isn't obvious—or doesn't exist yet.

Organizations frequently encounter technical problems that don't fit neatly into an existing product or service. You may need to modify an existing system, create a new capability, replace obsolete equipment, integrate multiple subsystems, or develop something that simply doesn't exist commercially.

Our job is to understand the actual requirement, develop practical concepts, and implement a solution that can ultimately be built, procured, installed, and used.

Problems we can help solve.

Technical problems rarely fit neatly into a single category. Whether something needs to be designed, modified, documented, sourced, or brought back into service, we can help determine a practical path forward.

NEW DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

A new mechanical, pneumatic, or electro-mechanical capability is needed.

A technical problem has been identified, but the organization lacks the internal resources to develop and implement a solution.

Multiple subsystems or components have been selected, but no one has taken responsibility for making sure the complete system will actually work together as a deliverable.

A prototype or concept needs to be developed into a manufacturable, serviceable design.

A custom fixture, tool, or support system is needed for a complex operation.

Multiple mechanical, pneumatic, fluid, electrical, or control subsystems need to be coordinated into a functioning system, but the interfaces between them have not been fully resolved.

Existing hardware needs a new or upgraded control system.

An existing design needs to be adapted to accommodate new components, operating requirements, or constraints.

An existing complex assembly or system needs to be modified, upgraded, or documented.

A new or modified system involves multiple components, subsystems, or suppliers, but nothing clearly defines how everything needs to fit and work together.

A project has moved beyond the concept stage, but the digital information needed to develop, coordinate, manufacture, or procure the deliverable is not organized well enough to support the work.

Multiple technical disciplines or suppliers are working from different models, drawings, specifications, or assumptions, creating integration problems before the system is ever assembled.

LEGACY & OBSOLETE SYSTEMS

An obsolete, discontinued, or unavailable component needs to be replaced.

An aging system or hardware platform needs to be modernized, overhauled, or brought back into service.

A legacy system needs to be understood, documented, or reproduced without access to its original design information.

Critical hardware is difficult to maintain because its original documentation is incomplete, outdated, or unavailable.

An existing component or assembly needs to be reverse-engineered or replaced with an interchangeable COTS solution.

In-person and on-site assessments of equipment, facilities, and/or functional systems that need to be evaluated, documented, reviewed, or replaced to ensure your business operations continue without interruption.

A legacy system exists largely as physical hardware, scattered drawings, outdated CAD files, and institutional knowledge that is difficult for a new team to use.

An aging system needs its existing hardware and technical information converted into a usable digital record so future maintenance, modification, procurement, or replacement work does not depend on finding the one person who remembers how it works.

Legacy components need to be incorporated into a new system, but the interfaces, dimensions, connections, or available technical information are incomplete or inconsistent.

TECHNICAL DATA & DIGITAL WORKFLOW

A manufacturable 3D CAD model or 2D drawing package with appropriate GD&T is needed to get a component or assembly built where mistakes are costly or unacceptable.

An existing or new system needs its technical information structured into a usable Technical Data Package (TDP), including BOMs, schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, drawings, and other required information to support manufacturing, maintenance, modification, procurement, or future system changes.

A Technical Data Package (TDP) needs to be created with the required markings, callouts, drawings, and documentation for procurement and price estimation.

Technical information exists across CAD files, drawings, spreadsheets, specifications, and other documents, but there is no consistent digital structure for managing and using it.

Technical information is being created and maintained across disconnected files, software, and departments, making it difficult to maintain consistency between models, drawings, bills of materials, specifications, and the physical equipment.

A project needs a structured digital representation of its equipment, components, interfaces, and technical information so that the organization can more effectively support manufacturing, procurement, maintenance, modification, and future work.

SOURCING & TECHNICAL SUPPORT

A complex assembly or project needs accurate procurement pricing and sourcing support.

A confusing or poorly defined government procurement requirement needs to be translated into clear technical requirements.

An internal technical process, system, or project needs an experienced outside review.

A complex technical project needs additional design and development capacity without adding permanent staff.

A project involves multiple suppliers, components, and subcontractors, but nobody has ownership of the technical interfaces between them.

Multiple components, vendors, and technical deliverables need to come together into one working system, but no one is coordinating the technical interfaces, dependencies, and delivery between them.

Equipment has been purchased or fabricated, but the project is stalled between delivery, assembly, installation, and actual operational use because the remaining integration work has not been clearly defined or coordinated.
